Taste of Vinton this Saturday!

Taste of Vinton takes place Saturday
Vinton Unlimited is excited to host the ‘Taste of Vinton’ for the 3rd year.
The experience begins at Celebration Park where you will check-in, receive your passport and other information. You will then travel through the Vinton community sampling a variety of products while comparing notes and learning about each selection by our experts! Each sample item is available for purchase right in Vinton!
The event will end with a FREE concert in Celebration Park by the Craig Erickson Band! Don’t forget your lawn chairs!

Meeting reminder for food vendors during RAGBRAI
Brenda Corey, Environmental Health Officer with the Black Hawk County Health Department will be in Vinton on Wednesday, May 27 at 6:30pm in the basement in Farmers Savings Bank to answer any questions about the required food permit needed for all RAGBRAI vendors. Anybody may attend this meeting and attendance does not obligate your organization to a RAGBRAI booth.
Amateur Radio Field Day June 27,28 Demonstrates Science, Skill, and Service
Amateur radio operators from the Cedar Valley Amateur club, Eastern Iowa DX association and the Rockwell Collins Amateur Radio Club will be joining forces to participate in an international practice emergency communications event termed Field Day 2015 June 27 & 28 at Faye Clark Park in Hiawatha.
Since 1933, ham radio operators across North America have established temporary amateur radio stations in public locations during Field Day to showcase the science and skill of Amateur Radio.

Christian Summer Institute (CSI) is OPEN TO ALL children entering 1st-5th grade and is a Christ-focused and educational setting.

VINTON GARDEN CLUB
APRIL 29, 2015
The Vinton Garden Club member of National Garden Club, Inc., District II and Central Region met at
1:00 pm, April 29th, 2015 at Luanna Hawkins home. Our speaker was David Gates, he gave a interesting talk on the “care and planting of bulbs, tulips, dahlias, glads, calla lilies etc.
President Fran Stueck called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm.
Player Piano Party at CP Museum June 7
The Center Point Historical Society Depot Museum will open for the season Sunday, June 7, with a free Player Piano Party from 2 to 4. Refreshments will be served. The expanded “Home Front—the Forties” special exhibit will be on view. Guests may play the 1923 player piano themselves and also listen to local pianist Jeanette Elgin play.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church to hold VBS:G-Force Adventure Park
Bethlehem Lutheran Church (1206 C Ave) is holding Vacation Bible School on
Sunday, May 31st from 10:30-1:00 and June 1,2, and 3 from 5:30-8:00. All
kids from PreK-5th grade are invited to join us! Contact Rachel at youth@bethlehemvinton.org for more information or registration materials. Our theme this year is G-FORCE ADVENTURE PARK where the kids will discover an interactive, energizing, Bible-based program that will give them an opportunity to experience God’s love in action.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church to hold Bake Sale
Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 1206 C Ave is having a bake sale this
Saturday, May 16 from 9-12.
The proceeds are going towards sending 7 kids
and 2 adults from Bethlehem to the Youth Gathering in Detroit Michigan in
July.
The ELCA Youth Gathering for high school-age youth takes place every three
years and is about faith formation, worship, study, fellowship, service
and play.
